Aleksandra Goryachkina wins New Delhi GP on tie-breaks

GM Aleksandra Goryachkina, IM Bibisara Assaubayeva and WGM Zhu Jiner - all three drew their respective final round games. They each finished with a 6/10 score. Goryachkina won the tournament due to better tie-breaks. The remaining two were placed second and third respectively. Bibisara scored her second GM-norm and Jiner earned her final GM-norm. She also crossed 2500 as she gained 17.6 Elo rating points, taking her live rating to 2506.6. Thus, Zhu Jiner becomes China's latest Grandmaster. She has earned a GM-norm in all three events she has participated at FIDE GP 2022-23. Currently, she is leading the GP. Zhu Jiner becomes a GM, Bibisara scores her second GM-norm
FIDE Grand Prix 2022-23 and especially New Delhi GP will be a memorable tournament for WGM Zhu Jiner as she scored her final GM-norm and fulfilled the rating requirements also to become the latest Grandmaster from China. The reigning two-time World Blitz Women's champion, IM Bibisara Assaubayeva secured her second GM-norm.
