We are organizing an “Online Chess Tournament”, a Swiss league Tournament for our employees, their spouse, and children on 26th and 27th March 2022.

Category and Tournament Format:

The tournament will be conducted in the following categories:

a. Employees – Open Category - Men an Women.

b. Spouse (Open Category - Men and Women)

c. Children : Under-12 (9 yrs. to 12 yrs.), Under-16, Under-20 Open Category (20 years & above) – Boys & Girls

The tournament will be conducted in a Swiss League format with fixed numbers of rounds.

Time Control, Rounds and Pairing of the event

The time control for each game will be 10+0, i.e. each player will get 10 minutes per game. There will be 9 to 10 rounds. The pairings and the final standings will be decided by the system without manual intervention.

Registration

Player shall Register on Tornelo & Verify his/ her email id before going for next step.

Winner and Prize distribution ceremony

The winner of the Swiss League Format will be declared as the winner of the Tournament.

Compatible devices

Device - Participants are advised to preferably use the desktop or laptop with Windows / MAC operating system. The game can be played on Mobile or Tablet devices But we don’t recommend to play from mobile / tablet.

Software - Tornelo is a web based playing platform. Google Chrome Browser is recommended. It doesn’t require any download. Here are the following steps to enrol yourself for Tornelo with 4 Step process.

Steps to join the event in Tornelo are as follows:

1. Create & verify your account here

2. Click on the Tornelo Tournament link (It will be sent by Chessbase India a day after we get all registered players' details) and then you will see this message for "PLAY NOW" Click on that option & then click on "Register Now".

3.After Clicking on "Register Now" you will get to the "4 STEP Process" Page where you have to click on "Add player".

4. If you already have the player profile, don't add the player again. Click next Step. Then type the name of your first name followed by space and last name. Then click on "Next Step"

6. You will get the page for "2nd Step"

7. Select Section as Entry portal, where you have to put your FIDE RATING, If you don't have rating then Put "0" and then put your FIDE ID and then click on "Next Step"

8. Select Section as Entry portal, where you have to put your FIDE RATING, If you don't have rating then Put "0" and then put your FIDE ID and then click on "Next Step"

9. Click on "Confirm Entry"

10. Click on "OK"

11. Your entry will be successfully placed. Zoom Links will be added to the Tornelo Event Summary page as a Join Video Conference Green color button on the day of the Trial Round.

Internet Connectivity

Minimum 2 Mbps wired (preferably) broadband connectivity is required for playing the tournament without any connectivity issue.

Joining the tournament

The tournament link will be given to the participants few days prior to trial round. They need to enroll themselves there as mentioned above.

Webpage

A special webpage for the event will be managed, where participants will get all the required information on the event.

Webinars

Two webinars will be conducted to help the players in understating the Chess Platform, rules & regulations of the tournament.

Practice Match

One practice match will be conducted to accustom the players to the online Chess Platform.

Technical Support

Technical support for participating in the event will be provided to the participants.
